A Rough Night
Last night was rough! The lack of food has been making me feel super dizzy and faint, and somehow at 5am I ended up 'passed out' (I didn't lose consciousness or anything, I don't think) on the bathroom floor, feeling absolutely horrible. I've been told several times that I will reach a state of ketosis soon, and feel super energized (and not at all hungry), but so far, it has not happened.
This morning I feel a little bit better than last night, but still feel incredibly dizzy and sick to my stomach. I was able to drink the majority of my protein shake this morning, but am not sure how I am going to handle drinking two more of them today.
Off to have a little nap, and hope that my body is in ketosis when I wake up.
xx

Hang in there. I know it is crazy to think that your body will feel better without food. When I lost my hunger reflex, it took about a week I think. However, it definitely got easier after a few days. After a while I had to cue myself to drink Boost or something similar. I think what you are doing is great and sharing your experience is really brave. I just subscribed, so I won't miss any posts. Meg P.
ReplyDeleteThanks Meghan! I am so looking forward to the point where I don't feel sick from hunger. I have been chewing some sugar free gum which I found out can stop ketosis, so I have stopped that and hope I reach it in the next couple of days. xx
DeleteI'm not sure what kind of diet you're on but I don't think you should be feeling dizzy and faint nor should you be passing out! Your diet should be safe. Take care of yourself!
ReplyDeleteHey Marie, I am on the pre-op diet for my weight loss surgery. They have to shrink my liver by 25% before I can safely have the surgery so for now it's only 3 meal replacement shakes and some green veggies. Not fun but hopefully worth it.

Sending you lots of hugs. Hang in there!
